Check Data Integrity

PURPOSE
Checking data integrity is an essential step in using your ACCPAC accounting software. Checking data helps you discover if your accounting data is damaged. Data integrity problems can happen in a number of ways, for example:

You can physically damage the hard disk when moving your computer.
Power fluctuations, interference or network problems can cause the computer to write data to the disk inaccurately.
A file the program needs can be deleted inadvertently.

FREQUENCY
Micro Management Associates recommends that you check the data integrity of ALL your data files at least once a week. Doing so may reveal a data integrity problem before it becomes serious and un-fixable avoiding possible re-entry of data. You should also check data integrity any time you freeze or lock-up while in a module requiring a reboot.

PROCEDURE

Start ACCPAC
If you are on a network, be sure that all other users are logged out of ACCPAC
Be sure that you do not have any ACCPAC applications (e.g. General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, etc.) running.
Open the Administrative Services Folder
Double Click Data Integrity
Click on All
Click Check

At the completion of data integrity check, you should get the message "Integrity check complete. Data contains no errors."
